How Conversion work

Program owners define what constitutes a conversion when setting up their affiliate program. When a referred visitor completes that action, the tracking system fires a conversion event, records the affiliate's identifier, and queues a commission for that partner. Different programs can have different conversion events — a SaaS program might track trial signups, while an e-commerce program tracks completed purchases.

Why it matters for your program

Defining your conversion event clearly is one of the most important program design decisions. A vague or overly broad conversion event leads to commission disputes and inflated payout costs. A well-defined event aligns affiliate incentives with the business outcomes you actually care about.
